I've been working with DC United for the past few years and this season I'll be in charge of producing a weekly news magazine for the team's website. Check it out.

Oven Gone, New Lights In
I'm having another one of those moments where I'm wondering how we are going to get all of this done. Cabinets are T-minus 4 weeks away. More photos here.

100th post and Photo Map
To commemorate the 100th post on this fine blog, I have combined two of my favorite things: pictures and maps. That's right, my wife makes fun of me, but I think my love of maps began when I would sit in Social Studies class and zone out for hours by staring at the giant maps of Europe or Siberia sitting in front of me. This "study time" has paid off in numerous ways, I don't need a GPS, I can help my brother when he gets lost driving, and I can answer a lot of Geography questions on Jeopardy.
Recently I had about 12 hours to kill while sitting in a hotel in Miami. I discovered that Flickr has a feature that will allow you to place the location of your photos on Yahoo! Maps (Google Maps is the best...). So I sat down and took the time to place our travel photos on different parts of the map.
For example, if you click on the set of photos I took while in Miami, if you look just below the title "Miami" there is a link that says "Map" and you can see where the set of photos was taken.
Just a fun feature to take this blog from JV to Varsity. Or I have no life. One of those two.

Kitchen Update
I've added a few more photos in the quest to rebuild our kitchen from the rubble.
The biggest development so far has been patching up the two giant cracks/holes in our ceiling.
Actually the electrical wires in the kitchen have been a nightmare too but I think we have those all sorted out now. That wire coming out of the ceiling in the picture above will be for track lighting.
A little more spackle, tape, and sanding and everything should be good to go with the walls and ceiling. Tim "The Toolman" Taylor would be proud of me. The complete set here.
