Saranac 2009
Here are the rest of the pictures from Saranac 2009. We had a great week with the kids from Towson High. Unfortunately my camera did not survive the trip. We had a little unfortunate accident on the parasail. Apparently high winds and uneven weight distribution in the harness between three dudes isn't a good combination.

First Annual Battle of the Birds
We had a cool opportunity recently to take photos at a charity golf event to benefit Urban Young Life and FCA. Matt Stover and Brian Roberts organized two teams consisting of Ravens and Orioles players. A lot of great players showed up; Markakis, Flacco, Koji, and of course, the mighty Steve Hauschka just to name a few. Aubrey Huff was clearly the individual at the event...
Jonathan Ogden gave one of the best lines of the day. Arny asked what was the difference between football and baseball. Ogden's response, "Guaranteed money."
Look at Buck's perfect hair. If I were a gutsier guy I would have asked him to call my brother and say "Miguel Tejada throws to first."
I was very impressed with the number of Orioles that showed up on their day off. I'm sure the Urban YL and FCA folks are appreciative. More pictures can be found here.

Summer Has Arrived
After a very long week for me and a very long school year for the Wifey, the whole fam took a trip over to the reservoir to take in a sunset.
If you can't get enough of the dog, more photos are here.

Turner Troxell Film Shoot
A few photos from a very cool church being renovated by Turner Troxell. We were doing some filming on location with the man, the myth, the legend, Doug Turner.
These videos are going to look great. More photos here.

More on Dudley
There haven't been a whole lot of blogworthy events going on around the Metzger household lately. Things will pick up with summer coming. For now here's a little bit more on the dog.
This is Dudley's first bath. Note how you are unable to see the bottom of the tub through the water. That's all dirt...
This is one of the few toys he will actually play with..
And this is Dudley looking like an ad for Doggie Weight Watchers...
Hopefully we will have some updates with real human beings soon. More pics here.

New Addition to the Family
My wife's life is now complete. We have a dog. Meet Dudley.
It was pretty easy to spot him when we pulled up to pick him up. He just got fixed so the cone prevents him from gnawing at his stitches. It also makes him look pretty goofy.
He is a lab mixed with something else (we think maybe a German Shepherd). I have a lot in common with the dog. He has a big head, he's laid back, and he's pretty gassy. All in all he seems to be a pretty easy dog so far. A few more pictures here.

Revisiting The Bridge Pictures
This was the original purpose for going to take these pictures. We had been trying to think of something to put above our mantle for a while and somehow this idea just popped into my head.
Lot's going on this weekend so we will have a few more bloggable items coming your way.

Phoenix Bridges
We will take a break from our regularly scheduled house update to bring you a few local photos.
With the wifey out of town I decided to go exploring a little bit. I hit these bridges at just the right time of day with the sunlight dimming. Kind of reminded me of Tim's fall photos. I took a lot more photos and I have an idea what to do with them but you'll have to wait to see those. Here are the rest of the photos.

New Cabinets
It's been a while since our last kitchen update. The next major hurdle in this marathon occurred today. Our cabinets finally arrived. But first a recap of what we have been working on.
We now have shelves...
We also have Waynes Coating (Beadboard)...
Our cabinets arrived promptly at 7:20 AM this morning...
We installed all the wall cabinets and everything looked great...
And then the major buzz kill of the day. The first base cabinet I opened was busted. Fan-freaking-tastic.
I'll have a fun phone call with Kitchen Distributors tomorrow morning. More pictures here.

100th post and Photo Map
To commemorate the 100th post on this fine blog, I have combined two of my favorite things: pictures and maps. That's right, my wife makes fun of me, but I think my love of maps began when I would sit in Social Studies class and zone out for hours by staring at the giant maps of Europe or Siberia sitting in front of me. This "study time" has paid off in numerous ways, I don't need a GPS, I can help my brother when he gets lost driving, and I can answer a lot of Geography questions on Jeopardy.
Recently I had about 12 hours to kill while sitting in a hotel in Miami. I discovered that Flickr has a feature that will allow you to place the location of your photos on Yahoo! Maps (Google Maps is the best...). So I sat down and took the time to place our travel photos on different parts of the map.
For example, if you click on the set of photos I took while in Miami, if you look just below the title "Miami" there is a link that says "Map" and you can see where the set of photos was taken.
Just a fun feature to take this blog from JV to Varsity. Or I have no life. One of those two.

Kitchen Update
I've added a few more photos in the quest to rebuild our kitchen from the rubble.
The biggest development so far has been patching up the two giant cracks/holes in our ceiling.
Actually the electrical wires in the kitchen have been a nightmare too but I think we have those all sorted out now. That wire coming out of the ceiling in the picture above will be for track lighting.
A little more spackle, tape, and sanding and everything should be good to go with the walls and ceiling. Tim "The Toolman" Taylor would be proud of me. The complete set here.
